Repeat Medication Ordering.

We have taken the difficult decision and amended the practice policy regarding the ordering of Repeat medication by Chemists. From the 1st June 2017 Chemists will no longer be able to order medication on a patients behalf. The other usual methods of ordering medication remain - in person, online or now by Fax. The link below explains these changes in more detail.

Dr Walker

It is with sadness that Dr Walker left the Surgery at the end of the 2016 after 22 years of loyal service. He will be missed by staff and patients. He has now taken up a new post so as to be closer to his Church and we wish him well in his new practice in Hyson Green.

Church Street Medical Centre is Rated Outstanding by CQC!

We are pleased to announce  that the Practice has been rated "Outstanding" in our recent CQC inspection.  Only 194 GP practices in the Country have been given this rating and we are incredibly proud of all the Staff at the Surgery and our Patient Participation group for their contribution to the Practice.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.  There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below

Europe Europe & RussiaNorth America North America
Central America Central Americaindia South America
egypt Carribeanlithuania Africa
bulgaria Middle Eastpoland Central Asia
china East Asiachina Australasia and Pacific

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
